Dr. Anthony Hoban
Hoban Health was founded by Dr. Anthony Hoban, a General Practitioner with a special interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine based in central Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.
Anthony qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2013 and completed Specialist GP training with the Trinity College, Dublin / HSE training scheme. Anthony has also completed his Core Surgical Training with RCSI and a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in UCC. Prior to qualifying as a Doctor, Anthony completed a BSc. Physiotherapy in RCSI 2008. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine in Ireland, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and is a Member of the Irish College of General Practitioners.
Anthony has always been involved in Medical Education and Training. He has held roles as a Lecturer in Surgery with RCSI and is currently an Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Primary Care in UCD.
As a Team Doctor for Shamrock Rovers FC, the FAI Under 18’s men’s team and Bray Wanderers FC, Anthony established Hoban Health to manage a busy Sports and Exercise Medicine service while working in General Practice in the South Dublin and Wicklow areas.
In early summer 2022, Hoban Health moved into new premises on Northumberland Avenue and expanded to offer a full suite of GP and Sports Medicine services under one roof. The primary focus of this clinic is to offer patients easy access to their own doctor, ensuring consistency for patients and the highest standards of care.

Dr Katie Johnson

Dr. Katie Johnson joined the practice in 2025. She graduated from University College Dublin in 2014 and initially gained experience across various medical specialties in Australia. Upon returning to Ireland, Dr. Johnson completed her foundation training in general and internal medicine before transitioning to General Practice. She successfully completed her General Practice training with the UCD Mid Leinster Training Scheme in 2023.
Dr. Johnson has a special interest in women’s health, particularly in long-acting reversible contraception, and is skilled in the insertion and removal of Implanon and intrauterine devices (IUDs). She is a member of the Irish Menopause Society and has a passion for comprehensive menopause care. Additionally, Dr. Johnson has an interest in weight management, child health, and inclusion health, and enjoys contributing to these areas of patient care.

Nurse Megan Byrne
Megan qualified as a Registered General Nurse from Trinity College Dublin in 2018. She has worked across a variety of healthcare settings and has developed a particular interest in women’s health.
Committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care, she is also passionate about continuous learning and professional development, and is always looking to expand her skills to better support her patients.
