Who is Eligible for a Free Flu Vaccine?
According to the HSE, you are eligible for a free flu vaccine if you fall into any of the following groups:

Age 60 and older
-
Children aged 2 to 17
-
Pregnant people
-
Healthcare workers
-
Living in a nursing home or long-term care facility
-
Regular contact with pigs, poultry or waterfowl

Having a health condition that puts you at higher risk (from age 6 months up)

Living with someone who has a high-risk health condition
-
Being a carer for someone with a high-risk health condition

Health Conditions That Increase Risk
If you have any of the following, you can also get the free vaccine. Please note: if you live with anyone or care for anyone with these health conditions, you are also eligible for a free flu vaccine.

Chronic heart disease, liver or kidney disease

Chronic respiratory diseases (COPD, cystic fibrosis, moderate/severe asthma, etc.)

Neurological or degenerative diseases of the central nervous system

Diabetes
-
Down syndrome
-
Haemoglobinopathies
-
BMI over 40
-
Metabolic disorders
-
Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment, including cancer

Serious mental health conditions
-
Children with moderate-to-severe neurodevelopmental disorders or on long-term aspirin therapy

Conditions that compromise respiratory function (spinal cord injury, neuromuscular disorders, seizure disorders)
