What is the Contraception Pill?
The contraception pill is a daily medication that contains hormones to prevent pregnancy. There are two main types:

-
Combined pill (contains both oestrogen and progestogen)
-
Progestogen-only pill (mini-pill)

The pill works mainly by stopping ovulation and thickening cervical mucus to prevent sperm reaching the egg.
